The law in the UK on public nudity and nude sunbathing is a bit of a grey area. In theory, it is perfectly legal as long as one does not ‘harass, alarm or distress’ others. So bottom line go with the flow, if you see other stripping, it’s pretty much safe to do the same.
Here is a list of the nudist beaches you might want to go visit and enjoy:
1. Studland Beach, Dorsett, England
Brits often have a reputation for being prudish so you may be surprised to find out that located on the north-eastern tip of Dorset lies the aptly names Studland Beach. The nudist area which is marked out by signs is surrounded by sand dunes and a backdrop of heather, so it’s perfect for those who want some seclusion. This beach always makes the list of ‘top UK beaches’ and is a little gem that’s not to be missed.
2. Cleat’s Shore, Isle of Arran, Scotland

This is a great beach for the more shy. You’ll be hard pushed to find a beach more secluded than Clear’s Shore, on the south-west coast of the Isle of Arran. Scotland’s first official nudist beach, it is the place to go if you’re looking for blissful solitude. The beach is a mixture of sand, pebbles and larger boulders. It is located at the end of a short farm track off the A841, about half a mile west of the village of Kilmory on the southwest corner of Arran.
3. Morfa Ganol, Wales
Naturists have been coming to Morfa Cove for over 80 years, though it was only officially declared a nudist beach in 2000. If you can brave the bracing Atlantic Sea (cold waters), head here, with it’s unspoilt natural beauty and water so clean it has earned the highest quality rating by European standards.
4. Cefn Sidan
The nudist beach is located on the coast of Carmarthen Bay, between Kidwelly and Burry Port. This golden beach, lined with with pine forest and sand dunes is unofficial nudist beach but many nudists flock there.
5. Wild Pear Beach, Devon
It’s quite a hike to get to Wild Pear Beach, but once there you can easily spend all day lapping up the peace and quiet of this rocky, secluded little cove.
