Some of the better-known nude beaches in Italy are:
1. Bassona Beach
Located in the most northern part of Italy in Emilia-Romagna, Bassona Beach. This beach is Italy’s largest nude beach at 1km long, and is one part of the 3km-long Lido di Dante south of Ravenna. Nudism has been practiced here for ages, and has been legal (at least according to local officials) since 2002.
2. Capocotta Beach
This beach is located in the region of Lazio at a short distance of 49km from Rome, and there’s a dedicated nude beach section that’s about 250 meters long, it’s known by the name of Oasi Naturista di Capocotta. The whole beach is part of an official nature reserve, and nudists have been baring everything on this beach for more than 30 years.
This beach has been officially declared as a nudist beach in the year 2000.
3. Guvano Beach

Located in the region of Liguria, this little beach is easy to reach from the Corniglia train station, but it’s very small & the path to reach it is fairly steep. Its exquisite beauty, pebble beach is a popular tourist spot among nudists who come here to enjoy some private moments and indulge in some sun bathing activities. This beach is located amidst Corniglia and Vernazza; as you head towards Vernazza and turn downwards to the left after walking for 10-15 minutes, you can spot a free beach sign.
4. Lido di Venezia

Located in Veneto region, this stretch of beautiful sand sits on an island not far from Venice’s romantic canals. It has golden color sand along with the clean waters of this beach, just beautiful.
5. Portonovo
Located in the Le Marche region, in the town of Portonovo, part of this beach has a designated section section for nudism. It’s a secluded part that’s hidden behind a 19th-century brick tower.
6. Bibbona Beach
Located in the beautiful region of Tuscany, the south side of the Marina di Bibbona in Livorno is a dedicated naturist beach, which you’ll find if you just get to the beach and start walking south.
7. Costa dei Barbari
Costa dei Barbari, located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, this beach near Trieste has had a designated nude beach for years. It’s actually near the towns of Sistiana & Duino, just outside Trieste. Costa Dei Barbari is hardly a few minutes drive by car, commencing from Sistiana along the coastal road heading towards Trieste. This is a beautiful white sandy beach where you can enjoy the warmth of the sun in the buff.
