5 nudist beaches in Wales
Portugal is blessed with a long and beautiful coast, there are plenty of nudist beaches where sand and water are absolutely divine. Topless, is usual everywhere, public beaches, and swimming pools. There are a number of official nudist beaches in Portugal and there are many more unofficial nudist beaches where nudism is tolerated by the local authorities. The Portuguese people, as well as our law, are very tolerant towards nudity.
Portugal is a warm and friendly place for naturism, with six official nude beaches and many other beaches where nudism is tolerated, Portugal with it’s warm summers, nice water and beautiful beaches is ideal for enjoying sunbathing naked and is a very naturist friendly country:
1. Caneiros beach
Caneiros is a small beach, very pleasant, attended almost exclusively by nudists. With stunning rock formations, yellow smooth sand and warm waters is a paradise for nude bathers.
Caneiros naturist beach is located close to Ferragudo near Portimão towards the East.
2. Praia de Adegas, Aljezur
Paria de Adegas is an official nudist beach. This is the only beach with a life-guard, courtesy of Aljezur’s council. On the parking lot of Odeceixe you’ll find a trail leading there. The beach is a mixture of sand rock and pebble. The life-guard is the only person wearing swimming trunks!
3. Tavira Portugal
A beautiful long, white sandy beach, part of which is an official nudist area. The nudist beach – section of beach between Terra Estreita and Praia de Tavira.
4. Meco Beach, Portugal
Meco beach is really popular by the Portugese and also well known internationally. The beach is a mecca for surfers and nudists. Ever wanted to tackle the surf while in the buff? There’s no better spot than this raw and rugged beach, south of Lisbon. A hotspot for naked bathers since the Seventies, it’s still pulling in the punters — sans bikinis. Don’t miss a filthy wallow in its mud baths before rinsing yourself off in the cool Atlantic.
5. Ilha Deserta, Olhao, Portugal
Uninhabited Ilha Deserta features just one restaurant and a whole lot of peace and quiet. Take a 30-minute water taxi ride and then it’s time to do nothing but relax in your birthday suit. You can get transport from Faro on a daily basis.
It’s easy to find an area all to yourself on the clean beach, and the water is clear and warm. Literally meaning “Desert Island,” Ilha Deserta is the place to act out all those lost fantasies with just the parts about being alone in a really beautiful place.
6. Praia do Salto
The official naturist beach Praia do Salto is located near “Porto Covo”, between Sines and Milfontes. A natural sandy beach combined with a rocky terrain. Wonderful scenery, with weather protection from rock formations. A nudist haven.
7. Alteirinhos
Alteirinhos, Alentejo, south of the Zambujeira do Mar. A beautiful mixture of natural sand and smooth rock formations make ideal place for first timers.
